A joint operations center was established at Abbeville high school this morning... As agencies gathered to start an in depth search for “Poli” Perez.
Cadaver dogs were on scene as they assisted law enforcement in the search.
The FBI is requesting any information on “Poli” Perez.
His car was found early last month in northern Henry County, and that’s where the search started.
The agencies, including the FBI... Split up into teams and began searching the woods, waters, in Henry County.
"We just want to cover all bases, do all we can to try to find Mr. Perez, for his family and for our investigation.“ says Sheriff Madox
Five cadaver dog teams helped lead the way, and many volunteers joined the search too.
The teams made sure to look closely in the areas where poli was last seen before the disappearance.
Maddox says they are determined to find Perez and will continue looking even if nothing comes up today.
"We are going to go through Saturday and Sunday if it takes it of course. We are hoping we have good luck, so we really don’t know how long we are going to search."
The sheriff appreciates everyone’s help because he knows the family needs closure.
ATV's were also used in the search to get through the wooded areas that were tough to get to by foot.
