MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Residents have submitted about 70
suggestions for the name of Montgomery's new east side high school.
The Montgomery Advertiser reports (http://on.mgmadv.com/yx2oiy)
that Montgomery Public Schools officials have started the process
of forming an identity for the new building that will cost about
$23 million and be home to more than 1,000 students in the fall of
2013.
That means coming up with a name, a mascot and school colors.
School district spokesman Tom Salter says he will present
suggestions the district has already received on Thursday, when the
high school's naming committee meets for the first time.
