Missing Crestview Man

Alex Skrmetta

CRESTVIEW, FL - The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing/endangered adult who left a secure assisted living facility in Crestview on November 28th.

69-year old Alex Skrmetta, who suffers from dementia, left Carrington Manor on James Lee Boulevard last Wednesday and may be hitchhiking. He was last seen getting into a dark-colored SUV on Highway 90. Investigators say Skrmetta could be headed to Gulfport Mississippi where he has family.

He was last seen wearing khaki trousers and a gray, zip-up hooded jacket. Skrmetta is six feet tall, weighs around 110 pounds, and is bald - but sometimes wears a black toupee.

Anyone with information on Mr. Skrmetta is asked to please contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-651-7400 or 850-689-5705 - or contact your nearest local law enforcement agency.
