Missing Autistic Child Found

Late this afternoon more than 40 law enforcement officers from a host of agencies were involved in a manhunt in western Coffee County.

A nine-year-old autistic child disappeared from an Elba home around 3:30.

After a two hour search, the child was found in a heavily wooded area.

Coffee County Sheriff Dave Sutton says the boy was wearing a “project lifesaver” bracelet and it proved crucial in his recovery.

Sheriff Sutton says the child was upset but fortunately not hurt.
