Michael has become the seventh hurricane of the season in the Atlantic, but poses no immediate threat to land.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami said that Michael was located about 1,060 miles southwest of the Azores on Wednesday night. The hurricane is carrying winds of 75 mph and moving northeast at 7 mph.

The storm was forecast to turn toward the northwest and move more slowly over the next two days.
