The Washington County Drug Task Force, consisting of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Chipley Police Department, reports the results of a late night drug raid on a Caryville residence.
An undercover investigation by Task Force investigators yielded enough evidence to obtain a search warrant for the residence. Task Force Investigators served the warrant without incident late Wednesday night and found two suspects inside the home in the process of “cooking meth”. In addition investigators found methamphetamines, drug paraphernalia, and several “shake and bake” bottles actively producing methamphetamines.
38 year old Jason Sterling Shipes and 35 year old Serena Cherlane Cushman both of 4213 Douglas Ferry Road in Caryville, FL, were arrested on manufacturing and possession charges.
Investigators say both Shipes and Cushman are habitual offenders and well known to law enforcement. Shipes was released from prison in October 2010 after serving a sentence stemming from a 2008 arrest on drug charges. Cushman was released from prison in July of 2010 after serving a sentence stemming from a 2009 arrest on drug charges.
Washington County Sheriff Bobby Haddock asks that anyone with information on illegal drug activity contact us at 638-TIPS (8477).
