Mayor of River Falls Turns Herself into Police

The mayor of River Falls turned herself in to the Covington County Jail today.
Mary Hixon faces one count theft of property ... And one count misuse of office for personal gain.
Investigators say she is behind nearly 150-thousand dollars in missing town hall funds.
525-dollars of that money is allegedly "hush money".
The investigation began after Hixon sold the old River Falls town hall to Richard Moss without town council approval.
Moss had been living with Hixon for more than 10-years.
Hixon reportedly confirmed the charges to a citizen who was wearing a wire.
She also allegedly paid that citizen 525-dollars not to tell police.
