Breakfast is served to Fort Rucker soldiers, Ozark city officials and the Wiregrass community.

But the real purpose of the gathering is to get an update from Capital Hill.

Alabama's District 2 Representative Martha Roby spoke to the group about topics on everyone's mind.

"I think there is obviously issues involving sequestration," said Alabama District 93 Steve Clouse.

"You guys all know that I opposed the Budget Control Act, the sequester because the disproportional cuts to our military … I'm for cutting spending I'm for reducing our spending this is about my kids this is about your kids and your grand kids," said Rep. Roby. "Our job in the congress is to provide for a strong national defense and if we are not taking the steps to get the red the mandatory spending under control then we will unable to do so that's not what this country is about."

Despite talk of budget cuts, the meeting was to honor our soldiers.

"I can't thank you enough not only our military but our community and our families and Fort Rucker," said Rep. Roby.

"On a personal basis for the soldiers that were here it was great to see the ones that are providing your means for providing your defense," said Ozark Mayor Billy Blackwell.

Congresswoman Roby will be in Dothan August 27th, as a part of her "Martha Listens" Town Hall.

The town hall will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the Houston County Commission Chambers.
