March 7th, 2013 – Cereal Day

An unofficial United States holiday pays tribute to a modern breakfast staple: cereal!

March 7th is unofficially National Cereal Day. From Frosted Flakes to Honey Bunches of Oats and every brand and type in between, cereal—often eaten with milk—is a ubiquitous part of the American breakfast diet.

Many of our viewers commented about their favorite cereals on our station's Facebook page. Some such Derik Adkinson and Beth Jordan listed a single cereal as their favorite, in this case Lucky Charms. Others are more passionate about the food. Jaqueline Pabon commented, “My husband eats it like it is going out of style. He keeps a two week supply of six boxes or more just for him self and eats two bowls a day from a wide selection of Honey Bunches of Oats, Shredded Mini Wheats, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Sugar Smacks just to name a few and I like Captain Crunch Berrys [sic], and Pops.”

In the video above, you can see News 4's Demetria McClenton and Chris Havely talking about their favorite cereals, sharing more of our viewer comments, and more!
