A judge has sentenced a man to life in prison in the fatal shooting of a Bibb County sheriff's deputy who tried to serve a warrant at a Macon house more than six years ago.
The Telegraph of Macon reports that 27-year-old Antron Fair pleaded guilty on Friday.
One of Fair's attorneys says there is a possibility of parole for their client.
As part of his plea deal, Fair needs to testify against second suspect Damon Jolly, who is also charged in the 2006 shooting death of 36-year-old deputy Joseph Whitehead.
The 26-year-old Jolly faces the death penalty if convicted.
Murder charges are still pending for Thomas Porter and Hassan Harclerode in connection with Whitehead's death.
Prosecutors are not seeking capital punishment against them.
