Man Charged With Killing Pet Prairie Dog
A South Florida man has been charged with killing his pet prairie dog.

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -- A South Florida man has been charged with killing his pet prairie dog.
Davie police say 26-year-old Pedro Godales was arrested Monday and charged with animal cruelty. He was being held on $7,500 bail.
Godales' pregnant girlfriend told police Godales wanted to get rid of two of the rodent-like animals before the baby arrived.
During an argument, police say Godales kicked their cage up against a wall.
One of the prairie dogs managed to get out of the cage, and police say Godales kicked it as it was running away.
The animal died several minutes later.
