The Bay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call this afternoon at 522 North Tyndall Parkway at Abalone Apartments in reference to a domestic violence disturbance.

Deputies were informed, as they were on the way, that shots had been fired. Deputies arrived to find a female victim shot in the right shoulder. A witness told deputies the suspect fled the apartment. Deputies established a perimeter and called for the BCSO Air Unit and a K9 tracking dog. Minutes later deputies found the suspect a few blocks from the Abalone Apartments and apprehended him. Arrested was Paul Lambert, DOB 9/2/86, of Alabama.

Subsequent investigation revealed that Lambert had been staying with family at the apartment. He had gotten into a fight with his girlfriend, the victim, demanding she give him the gun in her purse. When she refused, they wrestled over the firearm as they stood in the doorway of the apartment. The gun went off and the bullet hit Lambert in the left forearm and then the victim in the right shoulder. The victim was taken to a local hospital.

Also arrested at the scene was witness Amber Criswell. Criswell is related to Lambert and allowed the couple to stay with her in her apartment. Criswell, DOB 8-19-88, was charged with Tampering With Evidence. Lambert was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Tampering with Evidence, and Aggravated Battery.

Additional charges are possible pending outcome of the investigation.
