MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Authorities say a man died after being hit in a Mobile nightclub while helping break up an altercation between two women.

Police say 29-year-old Raymond Boykin died of a head injury early Sunday following a fracas at Club Casino.

Officers say 31-year-old Jeremy McDaniels is charged with manslaughter in Boykin's death. Court files aren't yet available to show whether he has a lawyer.

Police called paramedics around 3 a.m. after bar fight between two women. Someone hit him in the head after the women were separated, causing the fatal injury.

Boykin died at Providence Hospital.
