Dothan city school teachers will get some extra spending money. It’s all thanks to help from vendors at Wiregrass Commons Mall.
Auntie Anne's, Dante's Pizza, Manchu Wok, Subs & More presented leaders with a $700 check.
The money was collected during the 5th Annual Education Summit and Showcase back in January.
Each company donated 10% of sales from that night.
“Although the economy isn't in the best shape, it is important to give back to the core of education, which is the kids, the future of our country. So with something like that it's worth every ten cents, every 10 percent. Every penny counts so it is very important,” said Bernardo DeFaria, owner of Subs & More.
There were more than 2,000 people at the event.
