A door-to-door scam ends in the Florida panhandle.
Police officers have cited three people for running an illegal magazine sale service. the suspects didn't have the proper licenses or permits to knock on residents' doors. Police say that a legitimate door-to-door salesman will have a business license issued by the city of Chipley or a local authority.
"Once we received a complaint, we were able to catch up with one of the people that were going door to door. After speaking with that subject, we were able to find out who his supervisor was and there was a small crew of them here in Chipley that were in different neighborhoods going door-to-door attempting to sale these magazines,” said Sgt. Paul Demaree of the Chipley Police Department.
Police say that the citations given could add up to $500 each.
