Lockheed Martin is lowering the number of employees being furloughed.
The company originally planned to furlough about 3,000 workers because of the government shutdown.
Now, Lockheed says it will cut the number of furloughed workers to 2,400.
Affected employees are located in 27 states, including Alabama.
The company didn't detail the number of impacted jobs in each state.
