U.S. Representative Martha Roby now has a Congressional intern from the Wiregrass. Robert L. Gurley III, from Dothan, is currently serving in her Washington D.C., office.
Gurley is responsible for handling certain legislative duties with a focus on issues that affect the people of Alabama. Gurley is a recent graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Development Sociology. He kept busy as Cornell by earning a varsity letter on the football team, obtaining membership of Cornell University Black Entertainment, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Alpha Zi Business fraternity and The League of Extraordinary Athletes.
While serving, Gurley will observe and take part in the workings of the United States Congress. Experience he gains from this internship will help to develop knowledge of the government and political issues that can be applied to future pursuits.
Gurley is a 2007 graduate of Houston Academy. His parents are Mr. Robert L Gurley Jr. and Ms. Trentino Gurley from Enterprise, Alabama.
