Local Officers Graduate from Alabama Police Academy

Area police departments have had some recent additions to their staff following the graduation of 19 men and women from the Alabama Police Academy.

The Opp Police, Dothan Police and the Ozark Police were three of the local departments that had graduates.

The newest members of the Opp Police Department are Cody Scott Martin and Harold LaTroy Staley. The newest member of the Ozark Police Department is Justin William Fuller. Justin Grant Dodson, Caleb Dirk Gilmore, Timothy Morris Traynham and Robin Blake Turner Jr. are the newest members of the Dothan Police Academy.

According to a press release from the Alabama Department of Public Safety, the officers had to complete a 12-week program that is designed to equip law enforcement recruits with the finest training possible. Recruits from the Andalusia Police Department, Demopolis Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Monroeville Police Department, and Selma Police Department also had officers graduate on April 11.
