If you could give the gift of life would you do it? Well Gloria Murphy is doing just that...without hesitation.
"It's very important because especially when you have like disasters and stuff, people need blood," says Murphy.
But Murphy's need hit a little closer to home. "Like my mom sitting over here...I'm donating for her," she added.
Her mother was recently diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a disease that negatively affects blood count and requires her to get an immediate transfusion. But with a disease that has been known to develop into Leukemia.
"I don't know how long this will do any good..I don't know for how long the blood transfusions will work," says Goff.
But as Goff prepares for this first transfusion every second longer she can spend with her four children is worth it. "As long as it will be, I'm thankful for it," Goff added.
And Murphy is just glad she and her siblings can help extend the life of someone who gave life to them. "I'll donate until they say don't do it no more," says Murphy.
The wait is on for the family over the next few months but for now they find peace in their faith. "God and his Son Jesus...they do a lot of things that people don't realize."
A faith that gives her daughter and her entire family a piece of hope to hold on to.
