Thanksgiving is a time for family, friends, food, and of course giving.
"So many folks are hurting during this what's supposed to be a joyous time of the year so it's just an honor and a blessing for us to be able to help people."
That's why Grace Point and Harbor Church along with others are donating more than 1000 bags of food to hungry Wiregrass residents this holiday season.
"We're giving out about 800 bags at the different locations today. But we've also, through local organizations, distributed about 200 bags to shut ins."
Each bag that is distributed will have enough food to feed a family of five.
"We're giving them a ham, green beans and rice. We're also giving them what we think is the most important thing...food for the soul."
Denise Andrews says she hopes people will walk away with more than just the food.
"I teach in Ozark so I see a lot of need. I think if first we can physically meet food needs because that is immediate, we can also meet the spiritual."
Because there is so much need in the Wiregrass.
