A motor vehicle accident in Leon County turns fatal.
Tuesday evening, just before 10pm, a Toyota Tundra was traveling west on State Road 20, just west of Raymon Cochrane Road in Leon County, Florida.
The vehicle traveled off the roadway into the north shoulder. There, it collided with a guardrail, overturned, and struck a utility pole.
The vehicle finally came to a rest on its left side. The driver, Donald Robert Johnson of Tallahassee, suffered severe injuries due to the impact and was pronounced dead on the scene. Johnson was 52.
Authorities say that the seatbelt was not in use, and the vehicle suffered around five thousand dollars in damage.
The Florida Highway Patrol received assistance in responding to this incident from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Tallahassee Fire Department, Leon County EMS, Talquin Electric, and Florida Power and Light.
