A former Geneva Police K-9 officer who accidentally killed his partner has been sentenced.
Joshua Waller pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and perjury charges.
In April of 2011 ... Waller left a 2-year-old lab named sassy in his patrol car where she died.
Waller then lied about it ... Saying the dog had been abducted.
He's been sentenced to a year-and-a-half ... That has been suspended.
Waller will pay 15-hundred dollars in fines ... And 74-hundred dollars in restitution for the dog's loss.
