Jesse Jackson Jr will be sentenced today for misusing hundreds of dollars in campaign money.
The former Illinois Congressman pleaded guilty earlier this year to plundering $750,000 from his campaign funds.
Prosecutors say the money was spent on everything from a Rolex watch to personal vacations.
Jackson’s father, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, blamed his son’s crimes on bi-polar disorder. Prosecutors say the victims of the crime were the voters who trusted Jackson.
The Bureau of Prisons says it can provide Jackson with appropriate medical care. He will spend 30 months in prison.
