Jeep Overturns in River, Woman Killed

IRONDALE, Ala. (AP) -- A 26-year-old woman is dead after the Jeep she was in overturned while crossing the Cahaba River.

Reports say that Kari Danna Thomas was trapped and drowned on Saturday night after the vehicle became submerged.

Thomas was among a group of people who were off-roading in a remote area of Irondale off Floyd Bradford Road.

Emergency crews from the Irondale and Leeds Police and Fire Departments and the Trussville Dive Team responded to the scene.
