James and Reiva Tindol Celebrate 70 Years of Marriage

James and Reiva of Coffee County aren't just any old couple.
They've put the time and effort into making their marriage work for the past 70 years.

"It's just a very special occasion to be married 70 years. A lot of people don't make it that long."

"Feels good! It's been a long time, but it's been great."

"They've been here all their life and my mother has been going to this church since she was a teenager. She's 86 and my father is 92."

James and his mother taught old time convention singing schools when he was just a teenager and Reiva was just the girl next door who happened to play the piano.
James invited Reiva to play piano for the music school and it was love from there on out.

"We lived next door to each other and when I was about 14, that's when we moved close to them. We lived almost in sight of each other. But he was older, about 5 years older than me so, we've been together just about all of our lives! I told him I was the last one he paid attention to and he said I was waiting for you to get grown!"

"I just feel so privileged to have had them for parents. They have been wonderful to me and I have just been very fortunate to have had them this long."

So congratulations James and Reiva.
May you spend many more years in wedded bliss.
