Jackson County SO Makes Arrest
On 9-2-2011, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a burglary at the Malone School in Malone, Florida.

On 9-2-2011, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a burglary at the Malone School in Malone, Florida.
Initial reports indicated that the school’s staff had arrived for work and discovered that the administration offices had been broken into and that approximately $665.00 in cash had been taken. An investigation was conducted by Deputies from the School Resource Officer’s Division and the Criminal Investigations Division. During the course of the investigation, evidence recovered from the crime scene was forwarded to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Crime Lab for processing. An analysis of that evidence enabled Investigator’s to identify Jeremy Donnell Barnes as a suspect in the burglary. On 12-29-2011, as a result of the investigation, Barnes was charged with grand theft and burglary of the Malone School. Barnes is currently housed in the Jackson County Correctional Facility awaiting first appearance on these charges.
