Jackson County Drug Arrests

On November 2, 2012, Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, along with K-9, conducted a traffic stop in the Wal-Mart parking lot on a 1990 Nissan Pickup for careless driving.

The vehicle contained two passengers. During the course of the investigation the passenger, Scotty James Williams was asked exit the vehicle. As he exited the vehicle a pill bottle containing crack cocaine fell to the ground.

The other passenger Kelli Lynn Pettis also exited the vehicle. Both passengers Pettis and Williams are on State Probation. After Miranda Warning, Williams admitted to smoking crack approximately 30 minutes before they were pulled over. After further investigation all parties were placed under arrest for possession of controlled substance and transported to Jackson County Correctional Facility.

Arrested:

Kelli Lynn Pettis : Violation of State probation and Possession of Controlled Substance.

Scotty James Williams: Violation of State Probation, Possession of drug paraphernalia.
