Jackson Co. Sheriff's Deputies Seize 230 Pot Plants

JACKSON COUNTY, FL - On Tuesday, September 25, 2012, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office seized approximately 230 marijuana plants that were nearing maturity. The plants were located in a wooded area off Hwy 73 South near the Calhoun County Line south of Marianna, Florida. The plants were located during an aerial search of the area by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit as part of The State of Florida domestic marijuana eradication program. The plants seized were of a poor quality however they still have an estimated street value of $50,000.

Anyone with information regarding the cultivation of marijuana in Jackson County is asked to contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers.
