Inauguration Map Unveiled

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Armed Forces Inaugural Committee has unveiled a giant map they are using to plan for President Barack Obama's second inauguration.

The inauguration parade will take place on Monday, January 21.

The 40-by-60 foot planning map of the district was on display Thursday. It's a project of the Joint Task Force - National Capital Region, a National Guard unit charged with providing support to local authorities for the event.

U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander Christian Downward said the group has been preparing for months.

More than 1,500 military members will make up a "street cordon" to line the parade route to salute President Obama and the first lady as they walk down Pennsylvania avenue.
