With the Fourth of July approaching, hundreds are expected to flock to the Alabama state line to buy fireworks.
The sale of explosive fireworks are illegal in Florida and Georgia. Alex and Alana Cheig traveled from Niceville, Florida and feel the law against the sale of fireworks is unnecessary.
"I don’t really understand the law. If it’s a noise issue you’ve got, well where we’re from you’ve got F-35’s flying over constantly. If it’s, I guess some sort of safety hazard I can possibly understand but…there are more hazardous things you can do on the Fourth of July," Alex Cheig said.
Store owners in the area say Independence Day is where the majority of their sales come from.
