Humminbird Establishes WCC Scholarship

Eufaula, Ala. — Humminbird, a division of Johnson Outdoors located in Eufaula, Alabama, recently established the Humminbird Scholarships for Wallace Community College. Recipients of the $1,000 scholarships were Adam Starling and Charlie Cotton, both from Eufaula.

To qualify for a scholarship, students must be enrolled in the Computer Information Science or Industrial Systems Technology programs.

“I am sincerely honored to have been selected as the recipient of the Humminbird Scholarship,” said WCC student Adam Starling. “This gives me the opportunity to focus on my studies as I strive toward my career in the Industrial Systems Technology field.”

Fellow WCC student Charlie Cotton agreed: “I was both surprised and honored to receive the scholarship from Humminbird. I am grateful for the opportunities this award will provide me as I continue pursuing my education.” Cotton is enrolled in the Computer Information Science program.

Humminbird began operations in Eufaula, Alabama in 1971. The company is a leading manufacturer of sport fishing equipment and accessories.
