Houston County may soon get more Storm Shelters

It's for six individual safe rooms.
Those rooms have already been approved by FEMA.

The project will cost $31, 500.

The homeowner will pay the entire amount first.

Then FEMA will reimburse them up to 75 percent.

"It provides a safe refuge for homeowners or anybody that purchases one, it gives them a place to go because their houses may not be secure enough," explained Houston County EMA Steve Carlisle.

Houston county commissioners are set to vote Monday.
