The initial plan for the old Houston Love Memorial Library was for it to be demolished but a harvester approached the Board of Directors and he is paying to take the building down.
He's sorting and reselling several items, including metal, wood and bricks.
This will keep 60-percent of the contents from going to the landfill.
"It would be a very green project in keeping so much out of the landfill and the making available pieces and parts for people locally and all over the country who are interested in buying pieces of the building, " says Bettye Forbus, Dothan Houston County Library Systems Director.
Forbus says if weather permits, the project should be complete in about a month.
