COWARTS, AL - On April 17, 2013 at approximately 9:10 p.m. the Houston County Sheriff's Office responded to an armed robbery at 30 Eddins Rd. Cowarts, Al.
Upon the arrival Houston County Sheriff's Deputies the suspects had already left the area and the scene was secured by the deputies and Houston County Sheriff's Investigators immediately started the processing of the scene for evidence.
The investigation shows that the suspects, two black males dressed in black, wearing gloves and masked entered the store after closing and had gained entry by force “shooting”through the front glass door, then located the store manger and forced him to surrender an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency (store deposit). During the robbery the manager was assaulted by one of the suspects.
The investigation has revealed valuable evidence and the investigation is on-going. Anyone with any information to the possible identity of the suspects please contact the Houston County Sheriff's Office at 677-4882.
