Houston Co. Commissioners Testify Before Grand Jury, Questions Remain

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) -- Authorities are continuing to interview Houston County officials as part of a grand jury investigation, but they haven't disclosed the nature of the probe.

The purpose of the special called grand jury has not been publicly disclosed.

Reports say that current and former Houston County commissioners spent Monday afternoon testifying in front of a special called grand jury at the Houston County Courthouse.

Several commissioners were still present at the courthouse around 4:30 p.m. Monday, when the grand jury concluded for the day. Some commissioners previously acknowledged receiving subpoenas to appear before the grand jury.
