One of the longest serving elected officials ever in Florida will be leaving office early next year.
Holmes County Clerk of Court Cody Taylor was first elected in November, 1976. He has held the post for the past 36 years. Taylor decided not to seek a tenth term, and his last day in office will be January seventh, 2013. Over his tenure, his office has filed and processed some 40-thousand misdemeanor and criminal cases.
