Highway 331 Four-Lane In Walton County

A long sought transportation project is now underway in Walton County.

The four laning of U.S. highway 331 is taking place on a five mile stretch north of Freeport.

It includes storm water retention areas, water and sewer utility line relocation.

Earlier this year, Walton County voters approved a half-cent sales tax increase to pay for an additional two lane span bridge over the Choctawhatchee Bay.

The Florida Department of Transportation is chipping in 175 million for the four lanes to I-10.
