The Alabama Department of Transportation has announced a long sought program in the wiregrass will soon get underway.
Early next year, contract bids will be let in the first phase of four-laning Highway 167 between Enterprise and troy. It will run several miles from the Boll Weevil circle to Salem Road. Highway 167 is a key north-south hurricane evacuation route. Four laning is also important to existing and prospective industry..
