Henry County's First Ever Citizens Academy

By  |

The Academy is a 5-month program designed to help residents learn more about county government.

The class will meet once a month, focusing on different departments, like road and bridge and county finances.

The class is free; the Commission only requires participants to be over the age of 18 and live or work in Henry county.

"Citizens are always asking questions about why can't I get my road paved, why does the sheriff not have enough deputies, why are my taxes so high so by them attending these classes, these sessions, that are going to be an hour and a half to two hours long, they'll be able to dive deeper, " says Public Information Officer, Chad Sowell.

Applications can be picked up in the Henry County Commission office. They must be returned no later than October 30th.
