Dothan is not the only city preparing for the Chinese Symposium.
Henry County is getting involved as well.
Henry County Commission chairman David Money said he wanted Dothan officials to know Henry County supported the conference.
Money hopes the Chinese Symposium will also bring jobs to Henry County.
He is asking residents to be open minded about the possible partnership.
"They want to learn the culture they want to be a part of it they want to contribute to it I want our people to understand that they aren't going to come in and bring 2000 Chinese people to come and take our jobs," said David Money.
Money says the county is willing to volunteer, sponsor, and do things behind the scenes to help with the conference.
