Headland Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrests

The Headland Police Department arrested two people after a traffic stop caused the discovery of 735 grams of methamphetamine and numerous pills.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 27 police stopped Barry William Petty Jr., 35 and Lacy Betty Petty, 25, both of Franklin, Georgia. During the stop, officers found approximately 735 grams of methamphetamine, numerous xanax and hydromorphone pills in the vehicle.

Barry was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Lacey was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Both subjects were booked into the Henry County Jail with bonds totaling $265,000.00 each. A 2007 Toyota Corolla was also seized and impounded.
