A Headland man has been transported to the Southeast Medical Center by FLATIRON after crashing into a cinderblock wall in Daleville.
Rufus K. Volf, 28, was driving on Old Newton Road near the intersection with Highway 134 when for unknown reasons; he lost control of his vehicle. First Responders at the scene had to use a wench to get Volf out of the vehicle. He reportedly sustained multiple head injuries in the crash.
Authorities say Volf hit the wall at high speeds. They also reported that he was wearing a seatbelt.
The morning crash caused the closures of 134 for about 30 minutes to allow the FLATIRON to land transport Volf. The roadway is now open.
