Halo Around the Moon on Monday 1/21/2013

Rings, circles, or halos around the moon or sun are caused by thin, high cirrus clouds or ice crystals reflecting light from the source.

In this case, the halo around the moon is caused by the high clouds that have moved into the Wiregrass over the last few hours.

The presence of Jupiter in close proximity to the moon in the night sky has nothing to do with this phenomena.

Please send in your pictures and we might show some of them on the news tonight.
