Habitat for Humanity Application Meetings Set

Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity is gearing up for their 2014 Family Selection process. WHFH builds and sells homes at cost and provides no interest loans to qualified low income families in the wiregrass area.

In order to learn more about the mission of Habitat for Humanity as well as the requirements for Partnership, interested applicants will need to attend an orientation meeting prior to beginning the application process. Below is a listing of the dates and times of the orientation meetings to be held in each of the four counties WHFH serves.

Interested applicants must attend one of these meetings in order to apply.

January 8, 2014 Dale County 6 pm Ozark Dale County Public Library 416 James Street Ozark, Alabama

January 9, 2014 Geneva County 6 pm @ the Johnny Hughes Community Center, 405 South 3rd Avenue Hartford, Alabama

January 13, 2014 Henry County 6 pm @ Blanche Solomon Library 17 Park St. Headland, Alabama (on the square)

January 14, 2014 Houston County 10am & 6pm 1227 Headland Avenue Dothan, Alabama

In order to qualify for Partnership with Habitat for Humanity applicants must currently have a housing need and have steady, verifiable income that will allow them to pay for the home if chosen. They must also have demonstrated responsibility in paying their bills in the past as evidenced by information received from a credit report (no one with an open bankruptcy or judgments / collections that cannot be paid off before closing will be chosen) and be willing to give the Habitat for Humanity mission 500 hours of their time.
