Panama City Beach, Florida – Gulf World Marine Park is saddened by the by the loss of one of their California Sea lions “Floater”.
Floater a longtime resident at the park was 30 years old. She arrived to Gulf World Marine Park in 1985 from Sea World, Orlando. Floater was one of the first animals that Ron Hardy and Brad Miller acquired when they purchased the park the first time 1984.
Late Saturday afternoon Floater was humanely euthanized due to a progressive paralysis caused by intervertebral disk disease, which is a common condition in older sea lions.
“Floater will be missed immensely, by our guests and even more by our animal care team and trainers”.
