Grand Jury Reconvenes

DOTHAN, AL - The grand jury reconvened at the Houston County Courthouse Tuesday.

The panel was formed by the Alabama Attorney General's office. Last month, they heard testimony from current and former members of the Houston County Commission.

While divulging some grand jury information is a crime, there is speculation the panel is investigating the county commission's involvement in the development of the Country Crossing bingo project.

Country Crossing has since been renamed Center Stage Alabama.

Commissioners requested an opinion by former Attorney General Troy King on local laws governing electronic bingo before machines were installed at Country Crossing.

The grand jury is reportedly scheduled to meet again on February 19.
