Graceville Florida Police responded to two separate incidents this week involving the same man.

On June 3, police responded to a harassment call on Damascus Church Road. Upon arrival it was learned that James Akamine Ammons, 38, had been drinking and was wanted for Violation of State Probation out of Bay County Florida. Ammons was located by police in a field across the street under some tree limbs. As deputies were in the process of handcuffing Ammons, he pulled away and fled. Even after an extensive search, deputies were unable to apprehend Ammons.

Deputies were called to Piano Road on June 4 in response to a prowler. At the scene, police discovered the prowler was Ammons. Graceville Police department, ACI and JCI K-9 teams, and the helicopter from Jackson County Sherriff’s office, with Jackson County Deputies, were dispatched to the area to search for Ammons. Ammons was located and taken into custody without incident.

Ammons was charged with violation of State Probation and resisting arrest without violence.
