Governor Robert Bentley Visits Fort Rucker

A former military soldier and now the governor of Alabama, Robert Bentley has a lot to say about Fort Rucker in his visit.

Seeing firsthand how our state is doing is something that is important to Governor Bentley.

Really wanted to see the training that goes on here and the physical impact of what we see here today

Fort Rucker is one of the largest employers in the state of Alabama bringing many jobs to the wiregrass.

This is where most of our pilots are trained and so this is not only important for the military but also for our local economy.

It’s no question that Fort Rucker is essential to the area, but talk of potential future defense cuts had soldiers nervous.
However Bentley says he is positive about that situation

This is an area with an infrastructure here and a mission that is carried out here it would be very difficult to replicate this in any part of the United States. So we feel very confident we will have a good outcome if there is a BRAC in this area.

And while things are still going smoothly at Fort Rucker right now, Bentley says he will continue to try and bring successful companies to the state.

We continue to work every day to bring industry into Alabama we don’t discriminate with companies
Because we let them decide in what part of the state they want to go.

Bentley said he was happy that the Chinese delegation came to Dothan.
Any new business is good for Alabama.

There are some other projects Bentley is working on to bring more industry to the state, however he said he can’t comment on them at this time.
