The man chosen to be on the November ballot for Houston County Sheriff, has been appointed to fill the position in the interim.
Governor Robert Bentley's office appointed Donald Valenza Tuesday morning. Valenza will fill the spot left vacated by current Sheriff Andy Hughes until November.
Valenza's name will also appear on the republican ballot for sheriff in November. Valenza was voted to be put on the ballot last night, by the Houston County Republican Executive Committee.
He was chosen out of six people.
