Gov. Bentley Sets Two Lesiglative Elections

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Gov. Robert Bentley has scheduled special elections to fill two legislative seats.

Bentley said a primary will be held Feb. 12 to fill the District 11 seat of former Rep. Jeremy Oden of Vinemont. The general election will be March 26 if no runoff is needed. Oden's seat became vacant last week when the governor appointed him to the Public Service Commission. District 11 covers portions of Cullman, Blount and Morgan counties.

The governor set a primary election Jan. 29 for the District 35 seat of former state Sen. Ben Brooks of Mobile. The general election will be March 12 if no runoff is needed. Brooks resigned Tuesday because he is becoming a Mobile County circuit judge. District 35 covers part of Mobile County.
